Alarm- Police were dispatched to the area of 2nd and Central for a burglar alarm activation. Officers arrived and checked the perimeter of the residence and did not observe any signs of forced entry. There was a subject at the property and after further investigation it was determined that they were permitted to be there and set the alarm off in error.

 

 

Community Policing- Police responded to the area of L St. and Boulevard to assist a caller who had believed they left their stove on after leaving the house. Officers arrived and were able to make entry into the residence and did observe the stove was left on. Police shut the stove off and secured the residence and advised the caller of our findings.

First Aid- While on patrol Officers observed a female face down on the ground with injuries to her face. Police began to render first aid to the victim who was not responding initially. Tri-Boro First Aid Squad arrived to assess the victim. The subject was intoxicated and had fallen and suffered minor injuries. The subject came around and was responsive and refused any further medical treatment. They were given a safe ride home by police.

Disturbance- Police were dispatched to the area of G St. and Central for a report of a disturbance at a residence. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller who advised there was a verbal argument between himself and a former girlfriend who had left before police arrived. Officers took all the information needed to generate a report. The subject had returned to get her belongings that were left there during the argument. Parties were separated for the rest of the evening.

 

 

Suspicious Person- Police were dispatched to the area of G St. and Ocean for a report of a suspicious male in their backyard which they observed on their surveillance camera. Police arrived and checked the residence and did not see anything disturbed and did not observe any damage. Everything was found to be secure. The area was checked and no subject matching the description was located. The caller was advised of our findings.

 

 

Verbal Dispute- Police were dispatched to the area of M St. and Central for a report of a verbal argument between a male and female. Officers arrived and located the subjects in their residence and investigated the situation. Officers were able to mediate the situation and advised the subjects to keep it down for the remainder of the night.

Fire- Police responded to the area of Porter and Boulevard for a report smoke coming from beneath a vehicle. Officers arrived and located some debris smoking under a vehicle. They made sure no subjects were inside the vehicle and the area was safe. The smoldering debris was extinguished.

Animal- A caller reported a deceased whale floating offshore in the area of L St. Beach. The whale washed up into the surf the following morning. The Marine Mammal Stranding Center was notified. A necropsy to be completed as soon as possible to attempt to determine the whales cause of death.

Motor Vehicle Accident- Police responded for a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Porter and Central Avenue. Officers arrived and located the vehicles and checked on the occupants to see if anyone needed any first aid. As a result of the crash the vehicles struck a fire hydrant breaking it loose and water rushing out. Public works responded to assess the hydrant. No injuries resulted from this crash.
