The Seaside Park Police Department is now digitizing its Accident (Crash) reports through a partnership with Carfax. The reports are stored electronically in a secure database and available for purchase online 24 hours per day / 7 days per week / 365 days per year at crashdocs.org .

Regulatory signs such as stop or yield signs that are not visible could pose an immediate traffic hazard and should be reported at once to police dispatch at (732) 793-8000. Malfunctioning or improperly working traffic signals should also be reported to police dispatch. If you observe any damaged or missing signs such as directional signs and speed limit signs, they should be reported.

A complaint for a specific violation such as speeding, careless driving, driving under the influence or aggressive driving, should be directed to Seaside Park Police Department at (732) 793-8000. How do I obtain a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO)?2021-09-06T12:41:47-04:00

There are three ways. In an emergency situation, when police are called to the residence, the officers on the scene can help obtain a TRO for the victim. A TRO can also be obtained through the Ocean County Family Court, during normal business hours. After hours, weekends and holidays, TRO’s can be obtained through the officer assigned to the incident at the Seaside Park Police Department.

New Jersy State law requires all children under age 8 who weigh less than 80 pounds to be in an appropriate child restraint in the rear seat. All children between 8 years and 18 years are required to wear a safety belt at all times. Use the appropriate restraint, and use it correctly. Rear-facing seats placed in the back seat from birth to at least 20 pounds. Forward-facing seats placed in the back seat from at least age 1 and 20 pounds to until about age 4 or 40 pounds. Booster seats in the back seat from about age 4 until 8 years or 80 pounds and approximately 4′ 9″ tall.

In order to retrieve any property, please call first to set up a time to come in and meet with the  Evidence and Property Officer.  If the Evidence and Property Officer is not available to return your property, an officer may be able to assist you based on the nature in which the police came to be in possession of the item(s), such as lost and found items.

How do I retrieve an impounded vehicle from the towing company?2021-09-06T12:42:11-04:00

Vehicles are released by officers at the Seaside Park Police Department. A release form is required to obtain your vehicle from the towing company. Once the bill has been paid, the car will be released to you. You will need to provide proof of identification to have the vehicle released to you as well as valid driver’s license, registration or insurance card if required for release.

Step 3: Complete the online application. You may complete the application using a smartphone, mobile device, laptop, or desktop computer. When completing the application, you will need the email addresses of two (2) reputable references. Your references can be family members. Print a copy of your application and confirmation page.

Step 4: After you complete your online application, you will be contacted via email by the Seaside Park Police Department for further instructions.

* You will be receiving automated email updates throughout new process.

* Once your application is complete, a Seaside Park representative will contact you.

* Please advise your references that the FARS system will email them the reference questions to be answered. Your references can complete the questions using a smartphone, mobile device, laptop, or desktop computer. Please advise them to complete the questions immediately to progress your background investigation.

* The online application is APPLICANT DRIVEN. Please ensure that you have entered the best phone numbers for yourself and references as well as the best email address for yourself and references.

APPLICATION TIPS

The new online application is APPLICANT DRIVEN. If the applicant makes a mistake while applying, they simply can RE-APPLY. The applicant should understand that all application fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. The applicant MUST utilize the correct ORI (NJ0152700) for the Seaside Park Police Department.

  1. FARS has replaced paper applications.
  2. This system has been mandated by the Governor’s Office to expedite the process and provide accountability for the length of time an application may take to process.
  3. The applicant MUST enter their “Official Name.” They cannot utilize simplified versions of their names (Joe vs. Joseph).
  4. Applicants must enter accurate phone numbers and emails for themselves and their references.
  5. Family members can be references.
  6. After the applicant enters all required information, a REVIEW PAGE appears where the applicant can edit all information entered into the application prior to final submission.
  7. An INITIAL APPLICANT must be fingerprinted. Please follow the online instructions.
  8. The applicant should also print both the confirmation page and application at the end of the process. This is for quick reference in the event of an issue and a copy must be provided.
  9. No payment is taken from initial applicants by FARS. Only 212A applicants will pay at the end of their online application process. Applicants are instructed to bring payment for initial FID card and any permits to the Seaside Park Police Department.
  10. 10. Effective with applications filed on or after 10/01/2020, E-Permits will be issued by the FARS system. Payment for your permits must be made prior to your application being approved.

Pick up an application from Police Headquarters or the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission Website. Have your doctor complete it and bring it back with a four-dollar check, payable to the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJ MVC). Return the completed application and check to police headquarters between 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for municipal holidays.

Paid Parking is enforced from April 1st through October 31st 24 hours daily.

Can I park an unattached trailer on the roadway?2021-09-22T12:33:40-04:00

Unattached trailers are permitted on any street, roadway, or public property within the Borough of Seaside Park between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:000 p.m.

It shall be unlawful to park or store upon any street, roadway, or public property within the Borough of Seaside Park any trailer between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. unless the same has been properly registered with the Division of Motor Vehicles and is attached to a properly registered motor vehicle with a hitch bar. At least one safety chain or cable must be connected.

To hire an officer, contact Jobs4Blue (Visual Computer Solutions, Inc.) at (877) 425-8330, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

Seaside Park Police Officers can be hired to work outside employment for the following situations:

• Traffic control
• Security/Crowd control
• Other appropriate assignments

There is a set rate for officers regardless of rank. Persons or companies hiring police officers cannot request certain officers or officers of specific ranks. Every effort is made to accommodate requests for outside duty officers but there are times when staffing is not available. Vendors will be advised in a timely manner if a job cannot be covered. Coverage of a job request is not guaranteed.

Outside duty requests are subject to review by the Police Department and may be refused if the duties requested are not consistent with the policies and procedures of the Seaside Park Police Department or against any laws or ordinances.

Can I walk my dog on the beach or boardwalk? 2021-09-27T09:01:50-04:00

Dogs, pets, horses, and other animals are prohibited from the beach and boardwalk at all times. Our Borough Ordinances state no animals are allowed on the beach or boardwalk at any time, in all seasons. Violators may be summoned and fined. The only exception to this is for registered service animals (such as seeing-eye dogs and on-duty police dogs)

Sandbags are available to borough residents and can be picked up at police headquarters. The bags can be filled using the sand along South Ocean Avenue in the area of 4th Avenue.
