Keeping the Peace- Police responded to the area of N St. and the Bay to assist a caller in keeping the peace with a former household member retrieving their belongings. Officers arrived and spoke to those individuals involved and stood by while the subject retrieved her belongings. Police were able to mediate the situation and the task was completed without incident.

 

Fire Alarm- Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company responded to the area of 9th and Bay for a fire alarm activation. Officers and the fire department arrived and checked the residence. No smoke or active fire was observed. The fire department checked the residence with their heat sensing equipment and deemed the house to be safe and determined the alarm was set off in error.

 

First Aid- Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to help a victim who was experiencing general weakness and was disoriented. Police and EMS arrived and began to assess the patient at the scene. They were later transported to Community Medical Center for further treatment.

Fire- Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to a trash can fire in the area of Brighton and Ocean. Officers arrived and observed a spent firework container on fire in the trash can. Police were able to extinguish the fire and the fire department made sure there it wasn’t smolder anymore.

Disturbance- Police responded to a disturbance in the area of Porter and Central Avenue. The caller stated they heard two males fighting. Officers arrived and located the parties involved. The subjects were having a verbal argument. Officers were able to mediate the situation and advised the subjects to separate for the remainder of the night.

Community Policing- Police were dispatched to the area of E St. and Central Ave. for a motorist that was having trouble getting their vehicle started. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller and were able to identify the issue and were able to get the vehicle started for the caller.

Alarm- Police were dispatched to a burglar alarm activation in the area of Decatur and Ocean Avenues. Officers arrived and checked the perimeter and did not observe and signs of forced entry. Police located a person at the location, and it was determined they were authorized to be there, and the alarm was set off in error.

 

 

Arrest- While on patrol in the area of J St. and the Boulevard Officers observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and did not stop at the stop sign. Officers made contact with the driver and while speaking with the male the odor of an alcoholic beverage was observed. Officers conducted field sobriety tests at the scene, and it was determined that the subject was operating his vehicle while intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with DWI as well as other motor vehicle violations.

Drug Paraphernalia- Police were called to the area of the J St. Beach for a report of a hypodermic needle on the beach. Officers arrived and were able to locate the item. The needed was safely removed and disposed of properly. The area was checked for any other potentially dangerous items and nothing else was located.
