First Aid- Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to assist a patient experiencing respiratory distress. Officers and EMS arrived and began to assess the patient at the scene. They were later transported to Community Medical Center for further treatment.

 

Officer Request- Police were dispatched to the area of Lafayette and the Boulevard to assist a caller who believed there was possible people trespassing in his crawl space. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller and checked the property for him. No signs of forced entry were observed and no evidence of any people that could have been down there recently. Police gathered information to generate a report. No further police action required.

 

Alarm- Police responded to the area of Stockton Ave. and Ocean for a burglar alarm activation. Officers arrived and observed the audible alarm sounding. The building was checked, and an unlocked door was located. Police checked the interior, and a person was located at the scene. It was determined that the person was authorized to be there and that the alarm was set off in error.

Harassment- Police were dispatched to the area of 4th and Ocean to take a harassment report. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller who advised they were receiving calls and texts from an old acquaintance who was leaving harassing messages, insults and vague threats. Police gathered all the information needed to generate a report and advised the subjects to block the number and not entertain any further responses and advised them if it continued to let the department know. Subject was advised of complaint procedures.

Agency Assist- Police responded to the area of Porter and Central Avenue to assist a neighboring agency in locating a burglary suspect from their jurisdiction who fled into our town. Officers arrived and gathered the description and began searching the area. Shortly after Police located the male subject a few blocks south and was placed under arrest and turned over to the agency who was looking for him.

Suspicious Person- A caller phoned police headquarters to speak to an officer regarding a suspicious male they saw on their surveillance system at their residence while they were not at home. The male walked around the property, went under the deck and was looking through the caller’s windows. Nothing was reported stolen, and no damage was observed at this time. The video footage was forwarded to the detective bureau for further investigation.

Utility Problem- Police were dispatched to the area of I St. and Central for a possible broken pipe. Officers arrived and located the running water which was coming from a broken pipe. No one was home at the residence and no shut off valve was observed on the outside of the dwelling. The water department was called out to shut the water off at the street.

 

 

Home Check- Police were called to the area of G St. and Ocean to check on a residence where the homeowner was not here and received word from a neighbor that a possible trespasser was there without permission. Officers arrived and checked the residence and did locate a vehicle parked in the driveway. A few lights were also on but we were unable to make contact with anyone. After further investigation it was determined that the home was locked and secure and the vehicle belonged to a friend who was authorized to park in the driveway to get their vehicle off the street.
