Alarm- Police responded for a burglar alarm activation in the area of 2nd and Central Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and the audible alarm was sounding. Officers checked the perimeter, and all doors and windows were secure with no signs of forced entry. It was determined to have been set off in error.

 

 

Suspicious Package- Police were dispatched to the area of 3rd and Central Avenue for a report of a suspicious package. The caller stated they thought the markings and the way the ink had seeped into the packaging looked suspicious. Officers arrived and checked the area and located the package in question. The package was looked over and nothing appeared to be out of the ordinary and was deemed safe. No further police action required.

Carbon Monoxide Alarm- Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to the area of 13th Avenue for a carbon monoxide alarm activation. Officers arrived and got anyone in the residence into fresh air. The fire company arrived and checked the interior of the residence with their equipment to ensure it was safe for inhabitants. The residence was deemed safe by the fire department.

 

 

Theft- Police responded to a caller stating their wallet was stolen. Officers arrived in the area of Porter and the Boulevard to speak to the caller who stated their wallet was stolen out of their backpack while working construction at a residence. According to a witness a female came onto the property and went through the caller’s backpack and took his wallet. Officers took all the information needed to generate a report. The area is being checked for any cameras that may have caught the offense. This matter is still under investigation.

Disturbance- Officers were dispatched to the area of Lafayette and Ocean for a disturbance. Police arrived and located the issue and found two males having a verbal argument. Both parties were separated, and Officers investigated what was going on. One of the subjects had too much to drink and a verbal argument ensued. Police were able to mediate the situation and both parties were able to resolve their differences for the remainder of the night.

First Aid- Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad were dispatched to assist a patient experiencing chest pain. Officers and EMS arrived and began to assess the patient at the scene. The patient was transported to Community Medical Center for further treatment.

 

 

Suspicious Person- Police responded to the area of Porter and Central for a male who was allegedly trying to enter a vehicle that was not his. Officers arrived and made contact with the subject. After further investigation it was determined that the subject did not enter the vehicle and there was no damage observed. It was also determined the subject was disoriented and was assessed by EMS and was treated at the scene and was safely escorted home.

Harassment- A caller advised police about a potential harassment situation and restraining order violation with a former household member. Police gathered all the information needed to generate a report. After examining the information presented it was determined that the subject was a victim of harassment and criminal charges were filed and a warrant was issued for the male subject. Police attempted to make contact with the subject and were unsuccessful and follow ups will be conducted to apprehend the individual.
