Suspicious Package- Police were dispatched to the area of H St. beach to investigate a call regarding a suspicious package which had been left there and unattended for an extended period of time. Officers arrived and located the item in question and investigated the situation. After further inspection it was determined there was no danger and it was just personal belongings that had been left. No further police action required.
Alarm- Police responded to a burglar alarm activation in the area of Stockton and Ocean Avenue. Officers arrived and checked the exterior of the residence and did not observe and signs of forced entry. After further investigation Officers spoke to an individual on the property who was authorized to be there who stated the alarm was set off in error. No further police action.

Juvenile Problem- Police were dispatched to the area of 10th and Ocean Avenue for a report of two male juveniles who had knocked down several garbage cans along Ocean Avenue spilling their contents. Police arrived and located the two male subjects matching the description provided. The subjects picked up the spilled trash and were escorted home and turned over to their guardians.
Motor Vehicle Burglary- Police responded to the area of K St. and Berkeley Lane where the caller stated that several individuals on bicycles were riding by and checking vehicle handles to get into unlocked vehicles. The caller then made his presence known when they opened a vehicle to enter it and that spooked the subjects which caused them to flee. Officers arrived and took the information needed to generate a report. Please remember to lock your vehicles and homes!
Theft- Police responded to the area of N St. Beach to take a theft report of fishing gear that was stolen. Police arrived and spoke to the caller who stated they were surf fishing and had some stationary poles in and had walked south while he was actively fishing along the beach and when he returned his gear was stolen. Officers took all the information needed to generate a report. The property was recovered and there is a suspect under investigation for this incident.

Arrest- Police responded to the area of N St. and Central Avenue for a report of an assault between household members. Officers arrived and spoke to all the individuals involved in the incident. After investigating it was determined that an assault had taken place. One male subject was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged.
Hit and Run- Officers responded to the area of M St. and Central for a hit and run motor vehicle accident where the victim vehicle had sustained significant front-end damage. After gathering information and the description of the actor vehicle police were able to locate the suspect vehicle and occupants who were issued motor vehicle summonses for leaving the scene and failure to report an accident.

Disturbance- Police responded to the area of 1st and Central Avenue for a report of three intoxicated subjects causing a disturbance. Police arrived and located two males and one female who appeared to be intoxicated that were arguing upon our arrival. Management requested they leave, and police stood by while the subjects gathered their belongings and left the premises.

Unknown Object- Police responded to the area of 14th and the beach for a report of an unknown metal object that had washed up on the beach. Police responded and located the metal object on the beach that had writing on it stating if found to call the police that it could be flammable. After further investigation it was determined that it was a military flare that had not detonated. Police stood to ensure the scene was safe until the Department of Defense could send out someone to safely remove the flare from the beach.
