Harassment- Police took a report at headquarters from a caller who was receiving harassing phone calls from an estranged family member. Officers spoke to the caller and gathered the information needed to generate a report. The complainant stated he had been receiving relentless phone calls from his brother. The accused was allegedly also calling a work colleague of the caller and disturbing them as well. Police attempted to reach out to the accused to get their side but were not able to make contact with them. The complainant was advised how to sign charges if they wish to do so.

 

 

Verbal Dispute- Police responded to the area of Decatur and Central Avenues for a verbal dispute between a male and female. Officers arrived and spoke to the male who stated his girlfriend and him got into a verbal argument after she had been out drinking. Police at the scene attempted to make contact with the female but she refused to speak to Officers. It was determined to have just been a verbal altercation and the male decided to separate for her for the rest of the night. No further police action required.

 

 

 

Motor Vehicle Stop- While on patrol in the area of Porter and Central Avenue Officers observed a vehicle driving out of town with a flat tire and riding on their rim. Police made contact with the driver and observed an odor of an alcoholic beverage and located an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. The driver agreed to perform field sobriety tests, and it was determined that she was not under the influence but had consumed alcohol earlier in the vehicle. The remnants were discarded, and the driver was issued several motor vehicle summonses for violations including having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. The driver called for a tow truck and the vehicle was removed from the roadway.

 

 

 

 

Suspicious Vehicle- While on patrol in the area of F St. and Central Officers observed an occupied vehicle idling for an extended period of time. Officers made contact with the occupants who were canoodling. Officers advised the subjects of borough ordinances for loitering, and they were given a verbal warning.

 

 

11/18

Alarm- Police responded to a burglar alarm activation on the ocean block of 11th Avenue. Officers arrived and checked the perimeter and did not observe any signs of forced entry. The residence was found to be secure and determined the alarm was set off in error.

 

 

11/19

Unattended Bag- Police were dispatched to the area of 13th and Ocean for a report of a black backpack that had been left unattended for an extended period of time. Police arrived and located the bag and checked it. The bag was filled with personal items and not dangerous to the public. No further police action required.

 

 

11/20

Intoxicated Subject-While on patrol Officers observed a female who was intoxicated and lying in the grass median in the area of the causeway outbound. Police made contact with the subject and made sure she was ok and asked if she needed any medical attention. The subject declined medical help and was given a safe ride home by the police.
