Borough Ordinance Violation- Police were dispatched to the area of J St. beach to take a report regarding a loose dog on the beach. After speaking to the caller, it was determined that the incident had taken place prior to today but they wanted to make a report. The caller stated that while on the beach with their four-year-old child a large dog that was running off leash knocked her child over and had left scratch marks on the child’s skin. The caller wanted to notify us of the incident and gave us some information of where they believed the dog resided. The victim did not need any medical attention. Police did attempt to make contact with the dog’s owners but were unable to locate them. As a reminder with the nice weather approaching there are no dogs permitted on the beach or boardwalk.

Verbal Dispute- Police responded to the area of Porter and Central Avenue for a verbal argument between household members. Officers arrived and spoke to the individuals involved. Police were able to assist in mediating the situation and the parties involved were calmed down. No further police action required.
Open Door- Police were dispatched to the area of North Avenue and Central for an open door. Officer arrived and did locate and unlocked door. Police at the scene checked the perimeter and did not locate any signs of forced entry. They also checked the interior and did not locate any unauthorized people, nor did anything seem to be disturbed. They were able to secure the location as they exited, and the owner was notified of their findings.

Criminal Mischief- Police responded to the area of 2nd and Central for a caller reporting that the rear window of their vehicle was shattered. Police responded and spoke to the owner and gathered all the information needed to generate a report and took photos of the scene. The area was checked for any surveillance cameras that may have caught the incident. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle at this time. This matter is still under investigation.

Community Policing- While on patrol in the area of M St and the Boulevard Officers observed a vehicle with one of its doors left open with no one around. Police checked the vehicle and did not see any signs of forced entry. Officers were able to locate the owner and they checked the vehicle, and nothing was taken, and they stated they had left the door open earlier by mistake.
Criminal Mischief- Police responded to the area of 1st Avenue and S. Bayview for a report of criminal mischief to the natural landscape of the bayfront. It was observed from a member of our public works that someone had taken it upon themselves to trim trees and had made several cuts to the trees at 1st Ave and the bay on borough property. Photographs were taken, and the area was checked for any cameras that may have captured the incident. This matter is still under investigation.

Arrest- While on patrol Officers observed a vehicle commit a motor vehicle violation and a motor vehicle stop was initiated. After further investigation it was determined that the female driver had a suspended license and had two active arrest warrants out of two separate jurisdictions. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where she was processed.

Alarm- Police responded to the area of M St. and Central Ave. for a burglar alarm activation. Officers arrived and checked the perimeter of the residence. No signs of forced entry were observed. All doors and windows were found to be secure. The homeowner was notified of our findings.
