Arrest- While on patrol Police observed a vehicle driving carelessly and initiated a motor vehicle stop. During the stop Officers observed the odor of alcoholic beverages and believed the driver to be impaired. Field sobriety tests were conducted, and the driver was found to be driving while intoxicated. The female driver was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where she was processed and issued several summonses for motor vehicle violations that were observed along with the DWI charge.

Disturbance- Police responded to the area of G St. and Central for a report of a disturbance. Officers arrived and located a male and female arguing outside their residence. The male wished the female to leave the premises. Police were able to mediate the situation and stood by until the female could get a ride from a friend. No further police action required.

Alarm- Police were dispatched to the area of 2nd and Central for a report of a burglar alarm activation. Officers arrived and checked the exterior of the building and did not observe any signs of forced entry. Upon further inspection all doors and windows were found to be secure, and it was determined that the alarm was set off in error.
First Aid- Police and Tri Boro First Aid Squad were dispatched to assist a patient experiencing respiratory distress. Officers and EMS assessed the patient at the scene. They were later transported to Community Medical Center for treatment.
Community Policing- Police were flagged down in the area of municipal lot 2 for a family who had locked their keys in their vehicle. Officers were able to utilize the lockout kit and were able to regain entry to their vehicle.

Swimmer in Distress- Police received a call for several swimmers in distress at the Stockton Avenue beach. Police, Tri-Boro First Aid Squad, Seaside Park and Seaside Heights Volunteer Fire Company’s responded to assist in an effort to get the swimmers to safety. Five swimmers were brought in safely and one male swimmer remained in the water. Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, State Police, US Coast Guard responded with more equipment and vessels to aid in the search but were unable to locate the missing swimmer. The victim’s body was recovered on the G St. beach on Wednesday morning.
Arrest- Police were dispatched to the area of G St. and Central for a report of someone trespassing at a property. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller who had advised police the female that was there was not welcome at the residence and had been advised of this previously. Police at the scene were aware this person had been trespassed and she was placed under arrest. The defendant was transported to police headquarters where she was charged with trespassing and released.

Community Policing- Police responded to the area of L St. and Ocean Ave. to assist a female who had misplaced her vehicle and needed assistance. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller who gave a description of the vehicle. Police checked the surrounding area and were able to locate the car a few blocks away and were able to escort her back to where she parked.

Fire Alarm- Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company responded to a residence in the area of 10th and Ocean for a fire alarm activation. Officers arrived and did not observe any smoke or active fire. The fire department arrived and checked the interior of the residence with their heat sensing equipment, and it was determined to be safe and the alarm went off due to a faulty detector.
