Harassment- A walk in at police headquarters came in to make a harassment complaint. The complainant stated a family member has been relentlessly harassing them via phone, email, and social media. Police gathered all the information needed to generate a report. The complainant was advised how to proceed with charges if they wished to do so.

 

 

8/17

Arrest- While conducting a motor vehicle stop on the causeway outbound Officers believed the driver was possibly impaired. After further investigation Officers observed the odor of alcoholic beverages emanating from the driver. Field sobriety tests were conducted, and it was determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing where he was charged with DWI as well as other motor vehicle offences.

 

 

Community Policing- A caller reported a loose dog in the area of M St. and Boulevard. Officers responded and located the dog on Central Avenue and were able to get the dog into the patrol car. Officers returned the dog safely to its owner.

 

 

8/18

Alarm- Police responded to a burglar alarm activation in the area of N St. and Ocean Avenue. Officers arrived and checked the building and did not observe any signs of forced entry. All doors and windows for found to be secure and it was determined that the alarm was set off in error.

 

 

 

 

Arrest- Police were dispatched to the area of G St. and Central for a report of harassment. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller who explained the situation. After further investigation it was determined that a female was harassing the caller and violated an active judicial order. An arrest warrant was issued for the offender. She was later apprehended and transported to Ocean County Jail.

 

 

8/22

First Aid- Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to the H St. Beach for a report of a subject possibly having a seizure. Police and EMS arrived and assessed the patient at the scene. They were later transported to Community Medical Center for treatment.

 

 

Community Policing- While conducting a motor vehicle stop in the area of 13th and Barnegat Ave. the driver advised police that she was lost and had been driving around for a while. Police had the driver follow them out of town and made sure she arrived home safely.

Open Door- While on patrol in the area of K St. and Berkeley Ln. Officers observed a residence with an open garage door in the middle of the night. Officers checked the garage, and nothing appeared to be disturbed. Officers attempted to make contact with a homeowner, but no one came to the door. Police closed and secured the garage door.

 

 

Arrest- While conducting a motor vehicle for traffic violations in the area of Brighton and Central Ave. police learned that the driver of the vehicle had an active warrant out for his arrest. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing. He was issued motor vehicle summonses for traffic violations. The subject was later picked up by the originating agency.

 

 

 

Fire Alarm- Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company responded to the area of N St. and the Boulevard for a fire alarm activation. Officers arrived and did not observe any smoke or fire. The fire department arrived and checked the residence with their heat sensing equipment and deemed the residence to be safe and that the alarm went off due to a faulty detector.
