Verbal Dispute- Police were dispatched to the area of Decatur and Lake Ave. for a male and female who were outside having a verbal argument. Officers arrived and located the couple and separated the individuals to determine what was going on. Police were able to mediate the situation and advised the couple to keep it down for the remainder of the night.

Alarm- Police responded to a burglar alarm activation in the area of 2nd and Central Avenues. Officers arrived and checked the exterior of the building and did not observe any signs of forced entry. The building was found to be secure, and it was determined that the alarm was set off in error.

First Aid- Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to assist a patient who had fallen in their home. Officers and EMS arrived and assessed the patient at the scene. They were transported to Community Medical Center for evaluation.

 

 

Unconscious- Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad were dispatched to the J St. Beach for a report of an unconscious male. Officers and EMS arrived and located the male. CPR was started and the male was transported to Community Medical Center by first aid and paramedics. The male was identified as 59-year-old Patrick Dispoto. The deceased was on the beach with his girlfriend who saw the storm coming and after going back to their vehicle she stated Dispoto was compelled to go back and warn others to get off the beach for safety. After he had not returned to the car after a period of time, she went looking for him and located him unconscious on the beach. He was pronounced at the hospital, and they deemed the cause of death to have been accidental caused by a lightning strike.

Community Policing- While on patrol a male flagged Police down in the area of Decatur and Ocean Avenues stated he was left stranded here and was in need of a ride home. Officers gave the subject a safe ride back to his residence.

 

 

Arrest- Police were dispatched to a disturbance call at Stockton and Ocean Avenues for a male and female fighting. Officers arrived and located the couple and separated both parties to determine what had occurred. After further investigation it was determined that the male had struck the female, and he was placed under arrest for assault. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.

 

 

Keep the Peace- Police responded to the area of Stockton and Ocean for a female who refused to leave her hotel room after her check out time and rental was over. Officers arrived and spoke to all parties involved. The female was advised if she did not leave peacefully that she would be charged. The subject decided to vacate the premises and Officers stood by while she gathered her belongings and left.

 

Arrest- Police were dispatched to the area of 12th and Barnegat Avenue for a caller who wanted to speak to police in regard to some overgrown trees on a neighbor’s home. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller who was intoxicated and acting in an erratic and aggressive manner. The subject was screaming and cursing at police at the scene who attempted to mediate the situation. The male lunged at police and put his hands on them and was subsequently arrested for his actions. The male was taken into custody and transported to headquarters where he was charged with assault on police officers.

 

 

Arrest- Police were dispatched to Stockton and Ocean for a report of a male trespassing. Officers arrived and spoke to the caller who stated a male had entered a hotel room rented by others and took a shower and he was not a part of their group. They stated he did not take anything but did enter the room without permission and had left the room and headed west down Stockton Avenue. Police located the male and spoke to him regarding the incident. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was charged with trespassing and released.

Community Policing- While on patrol in the area of F St. and Ocean Officers were flagged down by a person stating they could not locate their parked vehicle. Officers gathered the information for the vehicle and advised patrols. Officers located the vehicle nearby and the owner was advised of its location.

Criminal Mischief- Police were dispatched to the area of K St. and the Boulevard for a report of damage to a motor vehicle. The caller reported he heard voices outside of his residence and went out and checked his vehicle and found dents to the hood of the car. No subjects were located when he went outside. Police gathered all the information needed to generate a report. The area was checked for any cameras that may have captured the incident. No other damage was located or reported.
