Community Policing- Police were dispatched to the area of Stockton and Ocean Avenue to assist a person who misplaced their vehicle and could not recall where they parked. Officers responded and spoke to the caller and got a description of the vehicle. Officers were able to locate the vehicle ten blocks north and escorted the subject to their vehicle.

First Aid- Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to the 10th Ave. Beach for a report of a male that had fallen and appeared disoriented. Officers and EMS arrived and located the male who was unable to respond and was experiencing a medical episode. Police and EMS were able to get him off the beach and into the ambulance where he was transported to Community Medical Center for treatment.

 

 

Arcing Wires- Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to the area of Farragut and the Boulevard for a sparking power line. Officers arrived and located the utility problem and advised the power company of the situation. The wire was actively sparking and smoldering, so the roads were blocked off for vehicle and pedestrian safety. JCP&L responded to make the necessary repairs.

Borough Ordinance Violation- While on patrol in the area of M St. and Ocean Avenue Officers observed an occupied parked motor vehicle with two occupants engaged in consensual sexual relations. Police made contact with the subjects and advised them to get dressed and told them about the infraction. Both individuals were issued a borough summons for the violation.

 

 

 

Elevator Rescue- Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad were dispatched to a call on 8th Ave. for a child stuck in a residential elevator. Officers responded and assessed the situation and were able to utilize a tool and open the stuck door to get the child out. The child was checked out as a precaution by EMS. No further police action required.

Arrest- Police were dispatched to the area of J St. and Ocean Ave. for a report of a disturbance. Police located the male that fit the description by the caller. The male was intoxicated and immediately uncooperative with police at the scene causing more of a disturbance. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing. The subject was charged with disorderly conduct and released.

Arrest- Police responded to the area of M St. Beach for an intoxicated male who was being disorderly and giving the lifeguards a hard time and would not comply with their requests. Officers made contact with the male who was intoxicated and uncooperative with police. The male refused to give any information, refused to leave the beach, and continued to cause a disturbance. The male also threatened to seriously harm the lifeguards in front of police. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. The defendant was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, obstructing a law enforcement officer, and terroristic threats. The male was processed and transported to the Ocean County Jail.

 

 

Fire- Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to the area of Lafayette and Lake Ave. for a report of a garbage can on fire at the playground. Officers arrived and observed smoke coming from one of the borough trash cans. Police dumped the trash out to remove the smoldering item before the rest of it was able to catch fire. The smoldering item was a large spent firework which had been discarded too soon. The fire company arrived and extinguished the smoldering debris with water.

Suspicious Package- Police responded to the area of Lafayette and the Boardwalk for an unattended back. Police arrived and located a black backpack with no one around and no identifying tags on it. Officers checked the bag to make sure it was safe, and the bag only contained personal belongings of the owner. No further police action required.
