Criminal Mischief- Police responded to the area of 5th and Bayview Avenue to take a report of criminal mischief to two motor vehicles. Officer arrived and spoke to the victim who advised Officers that there was vandalism to the sign on his work truck, as well as reported engine damage to his work truck as well as his personal truck. The caller stated it appeared that something may have been poured into the vehicle gas tank which is causing the engine issues on both vehicles. Police gathered all the information needed to generate a report. This matter is still under investigation.

 

 

Alarm- Police were dispatched to a burglar alarm activation in the area of K St. and K Ct. Officers arrived and found the garage door to be open. The rest of the perimeter was checked, and all other doors and windows were found to be secure. No signs of forced entry were observed, and nothing appeared to be disturbed. Officers secured the residence prior to leaving.

Arrest- While on patrol in the area of Stockton and Ocean Avenue Officers were conducting a motor vehicle stop on a driver who drove over a sidewalk while exiting the parking lot rather than utilizing the driveway. After further investigation it was believed the driver had been operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. After conducting field sobriety tests at the scene, it was determined that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was placed under arrest for DWI and transported to police headquarters where he was processed.

 

 

Disturbance- Police responded to the area of Lafayette and Boulevard for a disturbance at a residence. Officers arrived and spoke to the household members who were engaged in a verbal argument which was causing the disturbance. Officers were able to mediate the situation and quell argument. No further police action required.

 

 

Water Rescue- Police and Tri-Boro First Aid Squad responded to the area of M St. beach for a female swimmer that had gone under and had been unresponsive after being helped out of the water by others on the beach. Police and EMS began to assess the patient and provided oxygen to the victim. The victim was transported to Community Medical Center for further treatment.

 

 

Community Policing- Police were called to the area of Farragut and the Boulevard to assist a caller in getting their dog into their vehicle to get to the veterinarian. The dog had an injury and was defensive and needed to be handled carefully. A Seaside Heights animal control Officer, Police, and the resident were able to safely get the pet into the vehicle.

Suspicious Person- Police responded to the area of N St. and Lake Ave. for a call regarding a suspicious male who had trespassed on the caller’s property. When the caller confronted the person and advised them that they were on private property he began to use profanity and was acting in a threatening manner to the homeowner. The subject did leave but continued to act disorderly. Officers arrived and checked the area but were not able to locate anyone matching the description given.

 

 

Borough Ordinance Violation- While on patrol in the area of M St. beach Officers observed two subjects consuming alcohol on the beach. Officers made contact with them and advised them of the violation and a borough summons was issued for the violation.

Fire- Police and the Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Company responded to the area of G St. and Central for a report of a residence on fire. Officers arrived and located some siding on the exterior of the home was smoldering and some had already fallen off after catching fire from a flower box on the deck that had been the cause. It was believed that something smoldering had been put into the flower box which had caught fire and melted and fallen to the ground that started the siding to catch fire. Police arrived utilized a nearby garden hose to begin to stop the fire from spreading. The fire department arrived and doused the area and took off some of the smoldering pieces of siding to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.
