Keep the Peace- Police were dispatched to the area of Decatur and Central Avenue to assist with a disagreement between household members. Officers arrived and spoke to the parties involved. It was determined that a verbal argument took place and one of the individuals wanted to gather their belongings and leave the residence. Police stood by and helped mediate the situation without incident while the subject gathered their belongings.

 

 

Theft- Police responded to take a theft report of a stolen surfboard. The theft occurred at 7th and Ocean Avenue while the owner was checking out the surf, he states his surfboard was taken from his vehicle. Police gathered all the information needed to generate a report and canvassed the area for any cameras that may have captured the incident. This matter is still under investigation.

 

 

 

Trespassing- Police were called to the area of O St. and Ocean Avenue for a guest who was not permitted to be on the premises. Police arrived and spoke to hotel staff and the subject was not a registered hotel guest and was asked to leave the property. Police stood by while the male subject gathered his belongings and Officers escorted him off the property without incident.

 

 

 

Criminal Mischief- Police responded to the area of Decatur and Ocean Avenue to take a report of criminal mischief. The caller stated a hotel guest damaged multiple items in the room including a television and the payment they provided for the reservation did not go through. Officers arrived and gathered the information needed to generate a report and photographed any damages. Police advised management how to proceed with charges if they chose to do so.

 

 

Arrest- Police responded to the area of 2nd Avenue and Central for a female subject who appeared to be wandering around. Police arrived and located the female subject. After further investigation it was determined that the female had two active arrest warrants out of another jurisdiction. She was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing.

Alarm- Police responded to a burglar alarm activation in the area of 6th and Ocean Avenue. Officers arrived and checked the exterior of the residence and did not observe any signs of forced entry. All doors and windows were found to be secure, and it was determined that the alarm was set off in error.

 

 

 

Criminal Mischief- Police responded to the area of M St. and Central Ave. for a caller who stated their passenger side rear window was broken. Police arrived and spoke to the caller and observed their vehicles window had indeed been broken. Officers gathered information needed to generate a report. The area was checked for any cameras that may have captured the incident.

 

 

 

Theft- Police were dispatched to the area of Porter and Ocean for a report of a wallet that had been stolen. Police spoke to the victim and after further investigation and reviewing some camera footage it was observed that the victim dropped his wallet and a female suspect picked it up and walked north on the boardwalk with it. This matter is still under investigation.

 

 

 

Disturbance- Police responded to the area of Decatur and Ocean for a report of disorderly hotel guests causing a disturbance and causing a nuisance. Police arrived and spoke to management who requested the subjects leave the premises. Officers stood by while the guests packed up and left without incident.

Agency Assist- Police assisted a neighboring agency with recovering a stolen SUV that was located in town in the area of K St. and Central. Officers located the vehicle in question and spoke to the individual who was the alleged owner of the vehicle. All the information needed was gathered and the dealership that owned the vehicle came to recover it without incident.

First Aid- Police and Tri-Boro First Aid squad responded to a victim who was having an allergic reaction and were having difficulty breathing. They were assessed and given oxygen at the scene and were transported to Community Medical Center by EMS.
